Tierra de sueños

Santander, 1937. Ana Cossío, a thirteen-year-old girl, flees to Mexico, boarding the Mexique along with hundreds of other Spanish children to escape the imminent arrival of Franco's troops. She leaves behind her family and Mateo Llamazares, her first great love. Mexico, 1939. The Vita, a yacht laden with jewels and precious objects confiscated by the Republican government to finance exiles during the Civil War, arrives in Veracruz. Mateo Llamazares is on board, tasked with safeguarding his coveted cargo and determined to find Ana. Madrid, summer of 2005. David Quijano, an archaeologist at the National Archaeological Museum, meets María, a Mexican art gallery owner, and is immediately captivated by her. The next day, he decides to show her some valuable pre-Columbian earrings he is safeguarding for restoration. But the consequences of this act will go far beyond what was expected, and David will have to set off for Mexico on a surreal and history-filled journey that will force him to confront not only the ancestral secrets of an immense land, but also himself.
