With Conan and Heiji's help, Iori manages to subdue the kidnappers and rescue Momiji. While hiking Mount Fuji, a place with breathtaking sunsets and the perfect setting for a confession, Conan, Heiji, Kogoro, Ran, and Kazuha are forced to take shelter in a temple due to the rain. However, Kogoro disappears under mysterious circumstances, and a monk who had vanished a few days earlier is also found dead. It all seems to be due to a curse, but Conan and Heiji manage to solve the mystery. At Bell Tree Tower, a murder occurs, and all suspicion falls on Kaito Kid, who had disguised himself as Shinichi. Conan and Kid are forced to work together to uncover the real killer. The granddaughter of a businessman is kidnapped, and while Sato and Takagi chase one of the accomplices who was going to get the ransom money to Yokohama, Conan and the Junior Detective League find a cat with a piece of paper in its teeth with a possible clue about the whereabouts of the kidnapped girl.
