Nadie me verá llorar

Before his camera stands Modesta Burgos, an inmate at the mental asylum, a woman who seems familiar to him. On the bench of the inmates, she poses with surprising haughtiness. Joaquín Buitrago doesn't take long to recognize her; she's one of the women from the La Modernidad brothel whom he had photographed years before. Now, stripped of everything, she still retains the magnetism that draws him in. Obsessed with her story, he tries to obtain her medical records. "There must be more to the silence of her life", the photographer tells himself.
