Upon starting her job as a nurse at a maximum-security prison, Brooke Sullivan quickly learns there are three crucial rules: 1. Treat the prisoners with respect. 2. Never reveal personal information. 3. Never, ever get intimate with the inmates. What no one knows is that Brooke has already broken the rules. No one is aware of her close connection to Shane Nelson, one of the prison's most dangerous inmates. They certainly don't know that Shane was Brooke’s high school boyfriend—the star of the football team, the perfect guy—who is now serving a life sentence for a series of brutal murders. Or that it was Brooke’s testimony that put him there. But Shane knows. He knows more than anyone. And he will never forget it.
