La muerte de las estrellas (Nytefall, 1)

In a world abandoned by celestial guardians and ruled by a tyrannical king, all Astraea knows is the safety of seclusion. With fragmented memories of only five years of her life, she is determined to uncover more about her past, even if it means escaping the cruel arms that keep her safe from the evil vampires rumored to roam the land. In her desperation, Astraea accepts Nyte's help before she can decide whether she has sold her allegiance to one of the bloodthirsty beings feared by the people of her world. Once the deal is struck, Astraea has a chance to escape by escorting her best friend Cassia to the Central Kingdom. There, on royal soil, the centenary of the Libertatem is being celebrated—a series of trials organized by the king in which five kingdoms compete for a cycle of security against vampires who seek blood, claim souls, and rage after dark. So when tragedy strikes, Astraea must decide whether taking the place of a slain participant for the safety of her kingdom is a ploy worth dying for, or whether protection—and answers to her past—are truly her strongest desires.
