The start of peak season in Gotland coincides with the discovery of a woman's body in Lummelunda Cave. She had participated in a tour the previous night. Could the killer have attacked her during the tour? Inspector Knutas leads the investigation, and the case turns out to be linked to a mystery involving a girl in a Norrland cave many years earlier. Karin, about to give birth, goes to investigate on her own initiative and finds herself caught in a dangerous situation that puts her life and her baby's life at risk.
