It is a proven fact that reality often gets bored with its own sanity, and, without worrying about the fate of the beings that inhabit it, suddenly makes a foreshortening and opens a breach where we thought we could firmly place our feet. The Bible of Idiots is a disturbing showcase of what happens when these breaches open, a tally of the victims the world leaves behind when it momentarily loses its mind: a dying young woman vomiting objects vibrating with a strange life, an office worker busy mapping impossible places that exist (or perhaps not) only in literature, a bookseller harassed by mysterious individuals who believe they are the authors of the classics that crowd his shelves, an inventor busy with a machine that allows one to see the reality hidden behind so-called "real events," an immortal child sponsored by Byron and a friend of Victor Hugo, and a wine lover who proposes a tasting as a duel to the death, are just some of the many wounded by this reality in the throes of madness who wander through this book, a handful of silhouettes on the floor from which perhaps only a mere trace of chalk separates us.
