After two decades of waiting, the fifth and final volume of Barrio has arrived, Carlos Giménez's grand chronicle of the transition from childhood to adulthood. In this volume, we explore the streets of Madrid in the 1950s alongside Carlines, the protagonist, as he faces the final stretch of his adolescence amidst workshops, factories, and his first commissions creating comics. We also witness this "debutant" making key decisions: assuming responsibilities within his family, solidifying his identity as an artist, and recognizing the true face —and the shortcomings— of his surroundings, his neighborhood, and his friends.
