England, December 1926 As the country tries to recover from the great strike that paralyzed Britain, a criminal begins to strike. The press quickly dubs him the Coal Killer. At the same time, all of England holds its breath: the celebrated writer Agatha Christie has disappeared. The police organize search parties to find her, her husband doesn't seem particularly affected, and the clues contradict each other. Everything points to a murder… but the truth is far more disturbing. Scotland Yard has secretly recruited her to help catch the killer, alongside the brilliant and eccentric Detective Inspector Thelma Barnes.
