Shizuku Hoshikawa, a high school student, avoids contact with other people and secretly writes a novel. One day, her classmate Kaori Asaka finds the draft and takes it home, leaving Shizuku very worried. Shizuku fears scaring her or that she'll be ridiculed, but Kaori's reaction completely surprises her.
