La historia secreta : La mayor investigación sobre las relaciones del ex presidente de México con el sistema criminal del narcotráfico

Everything indicates that Andrés Manuel López Obrador, AMLO, was not the man who came to dismantle the criminal system, but rather its Trojan Horse, one more instrument of the Sinaloa Cartel to complete its plan to conquer Mexico.
This journalistic investigation is based on dozens of testimonies gathered between 2020 and 2024 in various countries; on court records from U.S. federal courts and internal documents from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and the DEA related to their 2010-2011 investigation into AMLO's 2006 presidential campaign, as well as on records from the Mexican Attorney General's Office (FGR). I gathered testimony from 20 key individuals, including members of AMLO's inner circle who have accompanied him throughout his political career, from his time as head of government of Mexico City to members of his campaign teams in 2006, 2012, and 2018. I spoke with U.S. officials about their findings regarding López Obrador's first presidential bid, as well as with Nicolás Mollinedo Bastar, who claimed to have been AMLO's most trusted advisor from 2000 to 2014.
I also interviewed five former members of the Sinaloa Cartel in different cities and years; most are cooperating witnesses for the U.S. justice system in various ongoing investigations, while others are currently in prison serving their sentences.
The accounts of those interviewed coincide and complement each other, all pointing in the same direction: in all three of López Obrador's presidential campaigns, there was financial or operational support from the Sinaloa Cartel, with the knowledge of the now-president, who was even allegedly present at least one of the cash deliveries.
The reconfirmation that brought my investigation to a close occurred in late 2023 and early 2024, which is why I can now publish the results. There is no timing or valid reason to postpone the disclosure of the links between authorities and organized crime when, in Mexico, such complicity results in the death, disappearance, or suffering of hundreds of people every day. Therefore, I reveal this secret history here.
