Malas indecisiones

Imagine if each family held a lottery to assign roles: the smart one, the unlucky one, the freeloader, the black sheep… Well, I drew the short straw. Yes, that's me, the one with the fancy surnames —my name is Lucrecia Estefanía Peralta de la Merced— but I'm broke. In case you're wondering, I belong to the useless branch of the family, the one that's been making bad decisions and getting worse for generations. Thank goodness, when it comes to love, we inherited the gene that keeps us far from romantic. If marital status still appeared on ID cards, mine would say: "This girl's Cupid is on drugs". And here I am, trying to rebuild my life: with a lawyer boyfriend I only put up with for the sake of saving money, embroiled in legal troubles, and, get this, working a decent job for the first time… at a veterinary clinic.
