Apocalipsis y democracia

¿Por qué luchamos por nuestra servidumbre como si se tratara de nuestra libertad? Un absorbente ensayo sobre el presente político y las amenazas del futuro.
On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump's second presidency began, and in the six months from February to July 2025, the world was already transformed. This work aims to account for this transformation and the dangerous anti-democratic drift that recent politics has taken. It analyzes it with the distance afforded by reflection and study, and with the meditation and irony that Jordi Ibáñez's profession as a philosophy professor allows him. Trump, Thiel, Karp and the "technological republic," libertarian accelerationism, transhumanism, but also the question of the Catholic alternative and the apocalypse, René Girard and the management of violence in societies, the role of the left, and the tragedy of Gaza constitute the central themes of an essay closely tied to current events, circumscribed to a specific moment, but which at the same time analyzes its roots with unsettling clarity and glimpses the threatening horizon of what is to come.
