Y de todo mal me sana un buen verso

This lecture by Fabio Stassi, delivered in Rome in 2021 for the Dante Assoluto Festival, explores the poet's work —the Divine Comedy, the Rimas, La Vita Nuova, the Convivio—t o answer three questions: why Dante remains ever-present, why his poetry exerts a therapeutic power that leads us from melancholy to beatitude, and, most fascinatingly, how he healed himself through constant poetic self-analysis. It is an ingenious and insightful journey through Dante's poetry, guided by so many other poets —Saba, Borges, Brodsky, Leopardi, Ungaretti, Mandelstam, T. S. Eliot— who were convinced of the wonder of his verses.
