This book is not autofiction. Nor is it a conventional biography. It is a son's response to a real and imagined letter, written from the absence of his father. Based on documents, memories, and references to film, literature, and music, the text unfolds like a hall of mirrors where identity and memory intertwine. It is a first-person narrative, direct and uncompromising, written after the death of filmmaker Jaime Camino: a harsh and, at the same time, profoundly tender reunion. Even If You No Longer Read Me speaks of the inability to love, of desire, of the need to leave the family nest, and of death as a heartbreaking and liberating experience. From the apartment on Balmes Street in Barcelona that he will soon have to leave, Teo reconstructs his father's life and the legacy that remains when everything seems to vanish.
