Ojos de agua

Amidst the scent of the sea and Galician pines, in a residential tower by the beach, a young, light-eyed saxophonist named Luis Reigosa has been found murdered—slain with a brutality that suggests a crime of passion. Yet he had no steady relationship, and the apartment—devoid of fingerprints—reveals nothing but neatly arranged sheet music on the shelves and saxophones hanging on the walls. Leo Caldas, a solitary, melancholic police inspector who balances his station duties with a radio advice segment, takes charge of an investigation that leads him from the evening mist to the smoky atmosphere of taverns and jazz clubs. By his side is his assistant, Rafael Estévez—an Aragonese man far too impetuous for the ironic, ambiguous nature of Galicia, and even for Leo himself, who seeks out the ghosts hidden within others between sips of wine while trying to survive his own.
