When a woman is found murdered in Blackdown, a small English town, BBC presenter Anna Andrews is reluctant to travel there to cover the story. Anna grew up in Blackdown, but ran away at sixteen and never looked back. Detective Inspector Jack Harper takes charge of the case and suspects Anna might be involved in the crime, until he begins to realize that he himself is a suspect in his own murder investigation. Some secrets are worth killing for, and if this story has two sides—his and hers—it means someone is lying. Will they uncover the truth before it's too late and there are more victims?
