Ser un chico : La masculinidad a contracorriente

Being a boy carries some pretty strong connotations around the world. For Masato, being a boy means hiding his emotions; for Yuri, it means being expected to like girls; and for Fede, it means living by the law of the strongest. In this comic, divided into chapters, we follow Masato, Yuri, Fede, Toni, and Rosa as they return to high school after losing a classmate over the summer. Grieving and managing all the experiences, expectations, and pressures of adolescence isn't easy. Through these five stories, each of them, in their own way, questions their relationships with classmates and the nature of masculinity. Is it possible to break free from societal constraints? Expressing feelings, accepting one's sexuality, interacting with girls, and pornography... The protagonists of these stories encounter the typical and impactful conflicts of adolescence and wonder if there are healthier ways to navigate them. The weight of the patriarchal and sexist order also falls on boys, making them victims of their own limitations. Each story is accompanied by documentary pages in order to expand on the information and provide specific elements.
