El equívoco

In "El equívoco" (The Misunderstanding), Erich Fried recounts the fears and suspicions of a group of chicks being raised by their mother on a farm in the countryside. The chicks distrust the farmer's intentions. Their mother—the hen—tries to convince them of her kindness. And when they finally admit their mistake, night falls peacefully over the farm, while—oh!—the "kind farmer" sharpens her knife.
