La guardiana

Overijssel, Netherlands, summer of 1961. Sixteen years after the end of the war, Isabel lives alone in the country house where she hid with her mother and two brothers, fleeing the bombs falling on Amsterdam. In this isolated refuge, Isabel has built a life of strict routine, which is suddenly disrupted when her older brother Louis, an incorrigible womanizer and heir to the mansion, arrives with Eva, his current girlfriend. When Louis announces that he must leave on a trip for several months and that Eva will be staying at the house, Isabel develops a furious obsession with Eva as she discovers her personality, completely opposite to her own: she sleeps until late into the morning, is endlessly talkative, and constantly touches things she shouldn't. As the summer heat becomes stifling, the tension between the two women reaches a dangerous boiling point.
