December 1941. As the Nazis sow chaos in Europe and the United States tries to remain neutral, the peaceful life of Hawaii State Police Detective Joe McGrady in Honolulu is turned upside down when he is assigned to investigate the murders of Henry Kimmel Willard, nephew of the U.S. Navy admiral stationed in the area, and a Japanese girl, both killed with unimaginable cruelty on a local rancher's farm.
