Ucrania 22 : De la guerra programada a la contienda por la globalización

This second edition of "Ukraine 22" offers a profound and illuminating account of the war between 2022 and 2025, exploring its implications on various levels: revolutionary military innovations (from drones and other robots to the Oreshnik strategic missile), the failure of Western "game-changers," the unsettling role of the Wagner Group, and the prominence of narrative and deception. After examining the origins of the conflict in the period from 1986 to 1991, before the dissolution of the USSR, and the subsequent tensions arising from the energy sector and the Orange Revolution of 2004, the book addresses earlier conflicts in the Caucasus and the role played by the Euromaidan and Crimean crises of 2014 and 2015, along with the ongoing conflict in Donbas. From this perspective, the conflict is framed within the new international paradigm that emerged in 2020 and 2021, a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic effects, the inclusion of new actors such as Turkey, the Baltic States, Poland, and Hungary, and local strategic reassessments, such as the Intermarium project (now 3si) and the Forum of Free Post-Russian Nations. Above all, however, the historical significance of a conflict that began as a continuation of the 19th-century conflicts of the Eastern Question is highlighted, only to become one more of Russia's dangerous cyclical wars of disengagement. Ultimately, it became the turning point of an entire historical era, initiating a global conflict that converged with the Gaza massacres, the confrontation between Israel and Iran, a critical shift in US domestic and foreign policy, and a major setback for the European integration project.
