Mañana matarán a Daniel

Shortly before Franco's death, in the early hours of September 27, 1975, three young men were executed in the mountains near Madrid. Daniel, Hidalgo, and Pito had been arrested and tortured by the police, accused of killing a police officer and a Civil Guard that summer. The sentence was imposed hastily and without a legal trial, after a military farce in which there was no evidence or possibility of defense. Along with two other executions, these young men were the last to be shot by the Regime. Many years later, Aroa Moreno Durán stumbled upon traces of those murders very near her home: on the mountain where she had camped so many times as a young woman, the embankment where the executions took place still existed. How could she have known nothing about it? How could this event have been buried in the chronicles of our recent history?
