Botan is a young human woman with the potential to become an Arahitogami and rule over these beings, while Hyōma is a Saenome who seeks to return them to the other side. They begin living together, along with the ceremonial wedding objects that have protected Botan since she was a child. However, this peace is disrupted when one of the Saenome's high-ranking officials, Kokutan Yachimata, attempts to dispose of the ceremonial objects.
