Summer of 1916. Europe is ravaged by the First World War, and almost all the men are at the front. For sixteen-year-old Vincent, still too young to fight, wartime is also a time of promise. An electrifying encounter with Marcel Proust, a renowned middle-aged novelist, awakens his desires. Under Marcel's tutelage, Vincent begins a relationship as secret as it is dangerous with Arthur, a young soldier on leave. Together they share a secret that everyone seems to know, yet no one speaks of. In the evenings, Vincent frequents the city's opulent cafés with Marcel, attracting the critical gaze of society. At night, he hides Arthur in his room, risking everything to be together. Their relationship draws them into a world of pleasure and shields them from the inexorability of war.
