Silence travels from The Hague to an imaginary Central American country to investigate what happens inside a smart prison: Hell. Among the prisoners is Esteban, a young film student unjustly imprisoned when he begins working on a documentary about gang life. While a private detective sticks his nose —literally— into the prison's sewers to uncover an escape plan hatched by one of Esteban's relatives, The Hague orders an investigation into the prison's conditions. This leads to the discovery that Hell's doctor has designed a network of interconnected brains that aims to redeem the prisoners, transforming them into a single thinking organism.
