Akari is over 40 and works in a bookstore; Kanoko is over 30 and works at a clinic; and Jin, in his late twenties, works at an interior design shop. All three continue to enjoy their daily lives with their beloved cats, Mikazuki, Fû, and Gii. Akari meets the editor Nagahama at work, and he asks her out, but she overthinks things. Encouraged by everyone, she goes on the date with him, optimistic and, while they're having fun, she learns something unexpected... Three roommates and three cats whose lives and love affairs are approaching their full moon, but are still, like the moon, in their waxing crescent phase.
