Las riendas del destino

In a Spain torn apart by the Civil War, Mercedes, a young Andalusian woman, is forced to flee her country and leave behind the person she loves most: Sara, her adopted sister. Exile compels her to cross borders on a journey that takes her from Spain to Argentina and, later, to Ireland, always accompanied by a sense of loss and a pressing need to reinvent herself. Along the way, she meets the "amorals", a community outside the established norms, who introduce Charli into her life, a mysterious young man whose fearless way of living forces her to confront what she has always hidden. As the war devours everything she left behind, Mercedes must decide whether to accept the life others have chosen for her or dare, for the first time, to defend her own.
