Hunter White, a wealthy New York investor obsessed with big-game hunting, is on the verge of completing the legendary Big Five when poachers kill the black rhinoceros that was supposed to be his. The loss ignites his fury. His guide then proposes an alternative as exclusive as it is disturbing: hunting a sixth Big One. Not an animal, but something reserved for a select few. Hunter is initially appalled, but the logic that has always justified hunting ultimately prevails: the money from licenses funds conservation, and killing a few guarantees the survival of the rest. Convinced that he is not crossing any moral or ethical boundaries, he accepts the proposal and ventures into a lawless territory where hunting is intertwined with crime and anyone can become prey.
