A powerful businessman, Miquel Royán, is looking for the best lawyer to defend his son Aleix, a troubled young man accused of murder and held in pretrial detention. That man will be Rovira, an ambitious criminal lawyer who works with his partner at a firm located in the most exclusive area of ​​Barcelona. Rovira will visit Aleix in jail and will want to see what his partner, also behind bars on the same charge, is up to. However, as he studies the details of the case and prepares the defense, he begins not only to clash with, and even stumble over, the prosecution and the tough judge in charge of the case, but also to get to know the wealthy Royán family and their entire circle better. And what he sees neither pleases nor gives him a good feeling. But time is ticking that sweltering August. Rovira is neither lacking in cunning nor composure.
