Felix, a cunning thief, doesn't hesitate when the opportunity arises to steal a helmet that, once in his possession, he discovers is a relic of the god Mercury himself. And when Felix touches it, fragments of a forgotten past begin to stir. Loren is tormented by recurring nightmares in which Pompeii is destroyed. And the nightmares feature Felix, who one day rushes into the temple where he works just as an earthquake shakes the city. Loren knows they only have a few days to uncover the mysterious link between Felix and the helmet, and with his dreams, if they want to save Pompeii from the scorching fury of Vesuvius. But in Ancient Rome, betrayal lurks around every corner, and destiny is inescapable. Felix and Loren will have to confront their own fate, and what they have begun to feel for each other, if they want to escape the burning city alive.
