Despite having known only the life on the road instilled in him by his free-spirited mother, fifteen-year-old Dan Stewart-Álvarez has always wanted to settle down. What he didn't expect was for his mother to abandon him in the middle of Tennessee with two strangers: his beloved grandmother and his cantankerous, very conservative grandfather. There, he'll have to adapt to working on the farm, going to high school, and, most difficult of all, living his identity within a Southern Baptist community. But, as Dan strengthens his bond with his grandmother, befriends the other outcasts at school, and tries to get his life on track in Green Gables, he'll have to discover if he can cope with intolerance and adapt to change without losing himself in the process.
