A biography that rescues the legacy of a woman ahead of her time, a key figure in the fields of philology, education, and feminism. She was one of the first women to earn degrees and doctorates in Philosophy and Letters, and she dedicated her life to teaching at the Residencia de Señoritas (Residence for Young Women) and the Colegio Estudio in Madrid, where she served as director. Working closely with her husband, Ramón Menéndez Pidal, she created a printed and audio archive to preserve the "treasures of oral heritage" contained in the ballad tradition.
