Una defensa del recuerdo, del deseo y de la escritura como única trinchera contra el paso del tiempo.
Onward, Chronophobes! is a fragmented, hybrid, and confessional novel that revolves around an obsession with time, loss, and the impossibility of capturing lived experience. Narrated in the form of a diary, letter, intimate essay, or memoir, the work reconstructs the emotional and intellectual life of a young writer through scenes of childhood, family relationships, reading passions, personal grief, and metaphysical fantasies. The narrator, with a voice that is both hyper-lucid and vulnerable, maps chronophobia, the fear that everything will pass, be erased, be forgotten, and attempts to resist it through the very act of writing.
Between the death of a cat, family heirlooms, and the echoes of a lost love, the protagonist converses with his sister, Amanda (a scientist, sculptor, and personal mythological figure), with his deceased uncle (an aspiring writer), and with the authors who accompany him (Leopardi, Salinger, Proust, Josep Pla), constructing a personal encyclopedia of loss where the tragic, the humorous, and the profoundly intimate coexist. The text is also a cultural artifact about a generation marked by digital nostalgia, anticipatory grief, fluid relationships, and the legacy of failure.
