The Shadow of the Inquisitor tells the story of Christopher, a young alchemist's apprentice who embarks on an epic journey in search of wisdom. After witnessing the Inquisition's persecution of the master of the Brotherhood of Philosophers, Christopher joins a master builder on a journey that takes him across the rivers and roads of early Renaissance Germany. In Mainz, Christopher becomes embroiled in the struggle against intolerance and superstition, while in Nuremberg he is reunited with Elizabeth, a young woman with whom he secretly falls in love. Throughout his journey, Christopher faces numerous challenges, including a shipwreck, slavery, and the constant threat of the Inquisition. Guided by the book The Tower of the Threshold of the World, the young man immerses himself in the study of alchemy, magic, and Hermetic philosophy. On his journey, Christopher will meet fascinating characters, such as the astrologer Jakob Faust, the printer Fausto, and the alchemist Kerem, who will help him on his path to mastery.
