Burgos, 1200. The visit of the legendary Eleanor of Aquitaine coincides with the discovery of a corpse in the Monastery of Santa María la Real, an impregnable bastion of power. Doña Elvira, the Machiavellian abbess, tries to uncover who is behind the macabre discovery before her enemies use the information against her, becoming entangled in a dangerous web of conspiracies. Meanwhile, a mysterious Sicilian doctor is making her way to the city, carrying the most unexpected and powerful of weapons: knowledge. Her arrival challenges the hierarchy in a world where superstition and violence dictate the fate of women.
