The life of illustrator José González—"Pepe"—was filled with joy and sorrow, fortune and loneliness, celebration and the precipice. Respected and beloved worldwide for his talent, his flamboyant life remained a mystery even to his friends and fellow professionals. Between 2011 and 2014—just a few years after Pepe’s tragic death—Carlos Giménez immersed himself in creating an ambitious biography of the artist, interviewing dozens of friends and acquaintances.
