Afuera, los fantasmas

No darkness can withstand laughter, no sadness can withstand tickles. When Mom is here, the shadows rest until the next day. In a poetic way, this picture book explores the theme of absence and abandonment that children feel when their parents are not around. We see a mother hugging her son and telling him that she is always with him, but the child experiences it differently. The reader will be able to see and feel the emotions the child is experiencing inside. The author and illustrator recalled their own childhood fears, but for this book, they set aside sadness and created tender images.
