Samuel lives with his aunt Isadora and helps her run her bookstore. But one day, she begins to suffer sudden and strange memory loss. Searching for answers, Samuel finds an old diary that leads him to a rift in the world: a gateway to the Afterlife. There he meets Taro, a Guardian of Souls who should banish him for being where he shouldn't be, though something about Samuel makes him hesitate. Instead of reporting him, he decides to help him. But what neither of them expects is that their encounter will change everything. Samuel seeks answers. Taro, something to believe in.
