Yuko possesses an uncommon sensitivity: she can see things others cannot, and she can also sense the desires and thoughts of those around her. When she turns fourteen, this sensitivity intensifies, and everything seems to take on mysterious nuances. At an art academy, Yuko is learning to assign a color to each mood and emotion; Kyu, her older teacher, is her instructor. And one day, he alone will see, as she does, a strange little green man emerge from the stem of a plant in the classroom. Thus begin what will be a crucial few months for the young teenager, who, suspended between reality and imagination, faces each day and gradually discovers the turmoil of the heart, the tenderness of feelings, and the challenges of becoming an adult.
