Sembrar palabras : El despertar intelectual de las mujeres

This is a story spanning more than five hundred years, a long period during which women were denied access to education. But it is also the story of a few women, privileged by birth, who were able to learn to read and who chose to write, thus leaving us their words. Thanks to these sowers of words, a new narrative began to take shape, one in which women began to overcome their fear. Throughout this time, the themes that have shaped the development of an egalitarian society are interwoven: the need for acceptance, motherhood, guilt, romantic love… All of this unfolds within the context of Spain's social and cultural evolution, which reveals the progress made, but also the possibility that what has been achieved can be lost. Thus, the author interweaves her own experiences into the different historical periods—those of a generation of women born during the Franco dictatorship and raised to be submissive, but who embraced the arrival of democracy with hope and were able to discover the meaning of freedom.
