Written as a letter to Sofie, his Palestinian sister, the work traces Alberto’s secret relationship with Isak while reflecting on what it means to love as an Arab and a gay man in Europe, against the backdrop of a family legacy steeped in memory and tradition. At the heart of the story is Isak Baydoun, a young Arab man forced to conceal his identity in a hostile environment. Together, they develop a secret, passionate relationship defined by fear, intimacy, and the challenge of existing in a world that often marginalizes those who are different. Through a train journey across Europe and shared experiences with Isak, Alberto explores the beauty of Arab identity and the power of a love that must remain hidden.
