Shackleton is an ordinary girl. She has neither friends nor enemies until one day she is appointed captain of the ship Polaris and sets sail for the North Pole. Almost her entire class joins this perilous journey, and adventures unfold. Only one girl refuses to play, though she longs to join the expedition.
