Barcelona, ​​1909. Sisters Francisca and María Romero arrive in the city during the Tragic Week to work as servants for the Puig family, a wealthy Catalan bourgeoisie. In the streets, workers fight for better conditions, while the upper class clings to its privileges. Francisca, with her indomitable spirit and head in the clouds, dreams of becoming an artist and living a freer, more exciting life than the one society has allotted her. She soon meets Joan, a young anarchist who steals her heart and introduces her to the glitz and magic of the Paral·lel. But a fateful event shakes the Romero sisters to their core and propels Francisca to pursue her dream: to become the queen of the Paral·lel theaters. Francisca will search for her place and grapple with her loyalties in a revolutionary Barcelona, ​​a city in the throes of theatrical ferment. She will discover the city's darkest side, experiencing humiliation, loneliness, betrayal, and an impossible love that will forever mark her life. But she will never give up on her dream.
