The couple living upstairs are named Gaeul and Bom—"Autumn" and "Spring" in Korean.
They met at the same company, but only began dating after sharing their life stories with each other. At the time, Bom had resigned upon learning of a corporate restructuring, while Gaeul was still holding on to his position. For both of them, living in Seoul meant clinging on with all their might just to keep from falling. Then, one day, they realized they didn’t have to keep living that way. Bom suggested they move to an old apartment in a small town.
After much deliberation, Bom and Gaeul decide to open a neighborhood restaurant. They call it "Winter Restaurant" and offer only four dishes: a winter special, *bulgogi* with *gochujang*, *bulgogi* with soy sauce, and fish. Watching them work tirelessly every day, Gyeongjik begins to wonder if it is truly fair for him to ask them to have a child.
For many people living in apartment buildings, a neighbor is nothing more than a stranger—someone they know nothing about and have never even tried to get to know. But what if, one day, someone were to take the first step and greet the elderly man living downstairs? And what if he, in turn, felt curious about the young couple living upstairs? Where might that brief conversation lead them?
