Laura y Julio

Laura and Julio receive a phone call that shatters their world: a car has just run over Manuel, their neighbor, who is dying in a hospital, critically injured. They are one of those couples immersed in a routine that neither questions; the years have molded them so uniformly that perhaps, more than a couple, they seem like siblings. Or perhaps not. Perhaps Manuel's arrival in the adjacent, symmetrical apartment opened a rift between them, a great void that is now difficult to bridge. That's why, when their marriage begins to crumble after Manuel's tragedy, Julio secretly moves into his neighbor's now-vacant apartment, and there, little by little, he begins to make his own a reality that isn't his. Perhaps what's happening is that he's starting to stop resembling Laura and begin to blend in with Manuel. In that place so similar to his own home and yet so different, he gradually feels as if he has stepped through a looking glass into the other world, a new life from which he can observe his own (his former life) and that of his wife (his ex-wife), and in both he discovers things he never suspected. Which of the two existences is more real? The one from which he has been expelled or the one in which he has settled like an imposter?
