La maestra

May, 1936. A young woman travels to a small town in the mountains of Cádiz where she will, for the first time, pursue her vocation and profession: that of a teacher. Ulalia—or Lali, as her students call her—prepares to teach a group of boys and girls. Nervous, she reviews the modern pedagogical principles instilled in her during the Republic, principles that, shortly after the outbreak of the Civil War, will condemn her. Accused of indoctrination, she is arrested and unable to return to the classroom during the dictatorship, becoming one of the victims of a process that affected a third of Spain's teaching staff. Until, thirty years later, an unexpected visit will change everything for Lali.
