Subaru Tosaka, a Fine Arts student, lives in the apartment next door to Yohei Yumoto, an older classmate at the same university. Subaru decides to enroll in the same faculty as Yohei after being deeply impressed by one of his works at an open house. However, upon meeting him in person, he discovers that Yohei is quite neglectful; the kind of person who needs to be looked after to avoid becoming a mess. So Subaru starts acting as Yohei's human alarm clock and bringing him breakfast once a week. Little by little, their daily interactions and small, shared gestures strengthen the bond between them, while Subaru discovers facets of Yohei he never would have imagined. But one day, seeing him acting suspiciously with a girl, Subaru realizes that what he feels for Yohei isn't simple admiration, but something much more profound. Amidst doubts, insecurities, and increasingly intense emotions, a delicate story will begin about the discovery of one's own feelings and the desire to be close to the person who has changed your life.
