Kyôko Byakuya is walking alone at the foot of the Sengoku volcano when a man appears, saying he was expecting her, and invites her to a nearby village. Surprisingly, the village is covered in hair-like volcanic glass fibers, and everything glows with an intense golden hue. That night, as the villagers gaze at the starry sky as is their custom, countless unidentified flying objects rain down from the sky, a prelude to the terror about to be unleashed.
