Foucault y Derrida : Los años salvajes de la teoría

French thought in the second half of the 20th century was probably the last great speculative current capable of completely renewing the field in which philosophical problems are posed and the way in which they are posed. Its influence has been immense: it traverses the entire intellectual landscape and extends from political reflection to criticism and artistic experimentation. Among its most prominent figures, Michel Foucault (1926–1984) and Jacques Derrida (1930–2004) occupied a central place by subjecting the notions of truth, reason, and subject to critique. Their works profoundly transformed contemporary philosophy and opened new ways of thinking about history, language, and power. Between genealogies and deconstructions, Foucault and Derrida taught us to think against the grain and to listen to what history had silenced; but, above all, to undermine the epistemological foundation upon which Western thought had been built.
